About the Course
With the right training, equipment, and mindset, experienced divers can safely explore the underwater world without a buddy. While solo diving isn’t for everyone, it has its place for those who are disciplined and committed to mastering self-reliant techniques. By learning to dive independently, you'll enhance your skills and build confidence—whether diving solo, with a buddy, or as part of a team.
To join the Self-Reliant Diver course, you must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, at least 18 years old, and have 100 logged dives. A skills assessment with a PADI Self-Reliant Diver Instructor is required before starting the course.
